Newcomer Rapoo Technology is certainly aiming for the top dogs with their most recent announcement. The new 8900P advanced wireless keyboard and mouse look a lot like contemporary sets from both Logitech and Microsoft, and the new Chinese manufacturer certainly is advertising them as such.
This new kit combines two components. The first is the E9270P keyboard. It's a slim low profile keyboard constructed from steel and aluminium alloy. The multimedia keys along the top are backlit, and the overall style is billed as an elegant solution for your desktop. It actually managed to win an IF Product Design Award in 2013, which isn't bad for a company that started out in 2002
The 7800P mouse is the second component in this kit, and it comes with the accouterments you'd expect from a high end mouse. Adjustable DPI, multiple buttons, and dual axis scroll wheel round out this rodent's feature set.
Rapoo is very confident in this new keyboard and mouse combo, saying it's a step on the way to becoming one of the "world's three largest manufacturers in the wireless peripherals segment by 2016." This is a full-size mouse with a high-definition laser engine so it is very easy to control and navigate. A 4D scroll wheel makes it possible to scroll horizontally and vertically, and you can choose between 800 DPI (for accuracy) and 1600 DPI (for fast movements) with the push of one key.
The mouse runs on a 5GHz wireless transmission so you can avoid interferences caused by Bluetooth and WiFi equipment. Its batteries last up to one year.
