It’s been a little over a year since the NVIDIA SHIELD was revealed to the world and the Android-based gaming handheld has continued to expand its functionality and library of games ever since. Now, two of the best known titles from Valve have jumped through the blue or orange hoop to the NVIDIA SHIELD: Portal and Half-Life 2.
Yes, if you have an appropriately-equipped gaming PC at home, you could have already streamed these games over to your SHIELD. What’s different now is that Valve Software has worked with NVIDIA to offer these games natively on the SHIELD. You can download them directly from the Google Play Store, just like the more than 300 SHIELD-supported Android games that are already available.
“NVIDIA has done a remarkable job bringing both Half-Life 2 and Portal to SHIELD,” said Valve Vice President of Marketing Doug Lombardi. “We’re playing both games here on our SHIELDs and fans of both franchises can expect the same gameplay they’ve come to love on the PC.”
To sweeten the pot even further, the NVIDIA SHIELD is currently on promotion for $199.
