Futurelooks dropped in on OCZ Technology to see what they had for us for COMPUTEX 2011. Alex Mei, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, took us through some interesting products that launched exclusively at COMPUTEX 2011. Products that were featured in the video included…
OCZ PCI-Express RevoDrive – OCZ unveils three new drives to their RevoDrive series. These include two more affordable RevoDrive 3 products. The RevoDrive 3 offers read speeds of 900MB/s and write speeds of up to 700MB/s (120,000 4KB Random Write IOPS) in 120GB and 240GB capacities. The RevoDrive 3 X2 delivers reads of up to 1500MB/s and writes of up to 1200MB/s (200,00 4KB Random Write IOPS) with capacities ranging from 240GB to 960GB.
The most interesting product though was the RevoDrive Hybrid which had never been shown off till COMPUTEX 2011. It’s basically a RevoDrive with a hybrid of both flash and platters. While performance is lower at reads of up to 575MB/s and writes of up to 500MB/s (30,000 4KB Random Write IOPS), the drive does give you the best of both worlds while offering good axillary storage with a 500GB or 1TB onboard matched with anywhere between 240 to 960GB of FLASH memory (TBD).
OCZ Power Supplies – OCZ beefed up their line up of power supplies with a new Fatal1ty series 1000W modular power supply which features 80PLUS GOLD certification. It comes with their OCZ 5 Year PowerSwap warranty. There’s also a ZS series which features 550, 650 and 750W models and is a more budget oriented offering with 80PLUS Bronze and non-modular cables and a 3 year warranty. The step up would be the ZT Series which comes in 550,650 and 750W models and offers 80PLUS Bronze with modular cabling and a 5 Year OCZ PowerSwap Warranty.
Finally, the ZX Series is the top end offering featuring 80PLUS GOLD, fully modular design, and a large single +12V rail for high performance loads. It’ll come in 850, 1000 and 1250W models and will also come with the OCZ 5 Year PowerSwap warranty.
