The Fatal1ty brand has added its moniker to many a product line, and now they are partnering with ASRock to add their special sauce to the Intel Z170 “Skylake” platform with a new motherboard. The ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 motherboard is out now, and is said to to be for serious gamers.
The ASRock-Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Series Gaming i7 motherboard definitely comes as a mouthful to say, but it also comes loaded with features. The board supports the 6th generation Intel Core processors and the latest DDR4 memory modules, with robust 12 phase-power to make sure everything ticks along nicely.
While it features all three major digital display ports onboard (DVI-D, HDMI, and DisplayPort), it also fully supports 3-way CrossFireX or Quad SLI with four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots. Taking a look at the picture above though, I have to say it might not be as easy as stated. The placement of those slots isn’t quite conducive to having four dual-slot video cards.
Rounding out the spec sheet is a dual gigabit Intel LAN chip, as well as ASRock’s own Purity Sound 3 onboard audio solution. The data bus features SATA3, SATA Express, and Ultra M.2 slots for any conceivable storage configuration. Externally you’ll find both USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 ports.
