Contrary to what you may believe from the last few computer case announcements we've posted, you don't actually have to spend a fortune to get a good quality case for your PC. Aerocool's latest additions to the PGS-A series, the Aero-800 and Aero-500, are strong evidence of that.
Both the Aero-500 and Aero-800 look very similar to each other, and they also bear a striking resemblance to bigger brother Aero-1000. However, it's the little differences that count.
The Aero-500 only comes in black and white, while the Aero-800 comes in black, white, grey, and blue. The Aero-500 borrows cues from the Aero-1000 for its front bezel, positioning the I/O panel on top while having two 5.25" bays face forward. The Aero-800 puts everything up front. They both have two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, one microphone and one headphone jack, and the Aero-800 adds a 2-channel fan controller to the mix.
Internally the Aero-500 is kept very simple. There's lots of room for a full system, but it's fairly standard for an ATX case. The Aero-800, on the other hand, tries to finagle a little thermal management into its inexpensive interior. Here we see some split off chambers for PSU and hard drives, separating them from the main compartment to try to promote better airflow. Both cases have magnetic filters on the included intake fans, and can support up to 240mm radiators for water cooling.
The Aerocool Aero-500 and Aero-800 should both be available now, and have an MSRP of $42.50 and $67.90 respectively. More info can be found in the press release below.
