UPDATE: Our FULL REVIEW is now POSTED HERE!
Earlier this year, we had a look at the Havik 140 as well as some other products at Computex 2011. NZXT has taken a long time to bring their very first CPU cooler to the market, mainly because there are just so many great options out there today. In fact, the competition is fierce when looking for the best looking high performance CPU coolers. Now we’ve got our hands on their first CPU cooler and we’ve unboxed it for you in the video above (or watch it directly on YouTube).
The NZXT Havik 140 uses up to two 140mm fans, both included, and gives you an option to install them one at a time to tune the noise levels and performance to your liking. The mounting system for these fans is also quite unique, using a rubber elastic system that keeps the fans on tight and minimizes noise. The mounting system is fairly beefy and works with all modern processors including INTEL and AMD.
NZXT really wanted to focus on tuning cooling performance to especially handle current and future hex-core processors even when overclocked. This is no small feat. What they’ve come up with is something that rivals the performance of the Noctua NH-D14 at a more affordable price but at half it’s size. Some would even argue that it looks better than the Noctua as well thanks to a more attractive color scheme.
If controlling noise and temps are important features, we think you’ll like what you see. We’ve got the NZXT Havik 140 on the testbench now so stay tuned for a full review coming up really soon!
