As I've mentioned many times before, the market for products targeted specifically at gamers is a large and lucrative one. ViewSonic is now putting their name into this arena with the announcement of their new XG Gaming monitors.
ViewSonic is very well known in the PC industry for their displays, and they are billing their new XG Series Gaming Monitors as having the features and technology that gamers want and need to be at the top of their, well, game. This includes 144Hz refresh rates and support for AMD FreeSync. There's no mention of NVIDIA G-Sync, though that might be due to the more proprietary nature of that tech.
The XG series will feature three models initially. The XG2401 is a full HD 1080p 24-inch panel with the aforementioned features. The XG2701 is a 27-inch model of the same stripe. The XG2700-4K provides just a little more. It still rings in at 27 inches, but features an Ultra-HD 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution on an IPS panel. All three models feature a black stabilization function that helps players spot enemies lurking in the dark, while maintaining brilliant rich colours and contrast.
More info on these three monitors can be found in the press release below. They are available now with MSRPs of $404, $529 and $913 USD.
