Remember five years ago when everyone thought Thermaltake was nutso with the Level 10 Full Tower Chassis? The company has never been shy about trying something new and different. Over at Computex 2016 in Taipei, they’ve done it again, unveiling a completed prototype of what’s being called “Project The Tower.”
The original creator of the case mod, WaterMOD France co-owner Mathieu Heredia, collaborated with Thermaltake to work toward a working prototype that could then be sent into mass production. The basis for Project The Tower started with a Core X9, but it’s been completely rethought to create a “practical yet extraordinary chassis.”
Easily the most eye-catching aspect of Project The Tower is its completely open front design, giving you the perfect perspective into the open chassis within. They continued with this line of thought by including open viewing on the left and right sides too, letting passers-by check out the fully vertical arrangement (with liquid cooling) from any angle.

I wanted to build fully functional case with a unique design, and in the end I created Project The Tower. I was surprised when Thermaltake recognized the spirit of this project, and was even more shocked when they decided to mass produce it. Thank you Thermaltake for making my dreams come true. I hope that this design collaboration will be a great success!” expressed Mathieu Heredia.

Main Features of Project The Tower:
Integrated with the Design Ideas from Mathieu Heredia
Thermaltake modified the original design to create a balance between functionality and aesthetics. With slick lines in a streamlined style, Project The Tower has the kind of design that is most popular among current consumers. The original design features an open front design. To avoid dust collection issues, Thermaltake added a transparent acrylic panel to its front to create an aesthetically pleasing and dust-proof chassis. In addition, to ensure that the case is of both style and functionality, Thermaltake modified the design to offer ample space for cable management and system expansion.
Project The Tower has a highly unique appearance with its rare vertical arrangement and open frame design. Users are able to admire the entire liquid cooling system from either the front, left or right sides. In addition to fully displaying all the water cooling components, users can also exhibit their extraordinary taste.
To improve storage capacity and storage presentation, Project The Tower is designed with two modular drive cages and two 3.5”/2.5” compatible drive trays each hidden in the back panel, plus two 3.5”/2.5” and two 2.5” visible drive trays located in the center of the case. In addition, it supports up to three dual expansion slots graphic card of up to 400mm in length, a tower CPU cooler as high as 260mm and a high-wattage PSU stretching up to 220mm in length, while still leaving plenty of space available for cable management.
Unparalleled Cooling Ability
The Tower offers various mounting points and brackets to support any type of gaming or cooling system. The fan brackets are ideal for DIY/AIO liquid-cooling systems and air-cooling units which support 120mm or 140mm in fan sizes. Users can easily utilize the fan brackets and install up to four 120/140mm fans or equivalent radiators on the side panel, and a dual liquid cooling system could be applied with the aid of water pump brackets,.
