Some say, that the best way to survive in a prison environment, is to immediately take down the biggest, baddest guy you can find. The DIY PC market is not exactly prison, but taking a title as best in class is definitely the way to get noticed quickly. The new Cryorig H5 and H7 both seem to have designs on doing just that.

The first thing that stands out about the Cryorig H5 and H7 is their proprietary “Hive Fin” design. This allows for high air flow while drastically increasing surface area. It also creates an enclosed path for airflow thus minimizing turbulence.  You should also note the front heat angle that allows the massive 160 mm tall H5 and 140 mm tall H7 to sit away from your RAM to avoid any interference. This is an annoyance with most, if not many, tall tower style coolers on the market.


Cryorig didn’t stop at the design of the cooler itself . They will also be introducing replaceable fan bearings for the included fans. You will have the option to go with the standard bearings, FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearings or Ball Bearing. There will be no need to buy an entirely new fan. Just swap out the bearings in the existing one, with your choice of available bearing type. A real asset if the fans fail outside of the 6 year warranty.

Although Cryorig is still new to the market, they are already showing some great signs of innovation. Even better is the extremely aggressive price of $50 USD for the Cryorig H5 when it becomes available mid-July. If you were planning on buy a cooling product for your CPU in this specific price range, you may want to wait it out for this product line.

Along with their recently released C1 compact coolers for low profile applications, this could be a great year for the freshman cooling company.

CRYORIG previews new H5 Coolers and innovative RIMS fan concept

CRYORIG, innovator of PC thermal peripherals is releasing a whole new line of single tower coolers as well as an innovative case fan concept. The CRYORIG H Series will for the first time feature CRYORIG’s proprietary Hive Fin™ technology, which allows the reduction of the airflow turbulence. An even faster exhaust of hot air is achieved thanks to the new Jet Fin Acceleration™ technology. Beginning with the 160 mm tall H5 and later the 145 mm tall H7 cooler, the H series will fit into the mainstream range of CRYORIG’s product lineup.

CRYORIG furthermore presented an exciting new concept of soon to be released case fans. The RIMS series allows users to replace the whole fan bearing on their own. Replacement fan bearing units, such as the FDB and Ball Bearing version, will be available on the market separately. Users will also be able to detach the fan blade unit of the RIMS fans for cleaning purposes.

Besides the distinctive Hive Fin™ design, new H5 CPU Coolers will also carry multiple CRYORIG proprietary features, such as:

Jet Fin Acceleration™ – Carrying the hot air out of the system faster and more efficiently.
Turbulence Reduction System – Utilizing a beehive shaped structure at the front air intake of the heatsink, lowers air turbulence and straightens out the airflow.

Zero RAM Interference – The H5 utilizes an asymmetric slanted heatpipe layout to move the heatsink away from the RAM zone.

The H5 is scheduled for release in mid July in North America for 50 USD and late July in Europe for 36 EUR (MSRP, excluding Taxes).
