Last week, SteelSeries introduced their new Rival Gaming Mouse. This week, SteelSeries announces the release of their newest headset. Notice that I didn't say "gaming" headset, and that's because the new H Wireless Headset is being billed as working on practically any platform. We actually got a glimpse of the product specs back at PAX Prime 2013, and it looks like what we were shown then has made it to final release.
This new headset is still built with gamers first in mind, and the technology list supports that assertion. SteelSeries has focused on the two main stumbling blocks for wireless headsets; interference and lag. They've incorporated a fixed-latency, frequency-hopping system that is continuous and automatically searches between available wireless frequencies to ensure responsive and uninterrupted audio performance for the listener. SteelSeries maintains that this should provide the best combination of wired performance and wireless freedom.
This technology isn't limited to the gaming machine though. SteelSeries has made it so the H Wireless Headset is functional and fully compatible with not only the PC and Mac platform, but with mobile devices, consoles, home entertainment, streaming devices and much more.
The SteelSeries H Wireless Headset will be available for around $299.99 MSRP and will begin shipping this month. Hit the press release link below for more info.
