The Vertex 460 series enters into the mainstream SSD market with a SATA3 connection and capacities of 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB. This is all encased in an alloy shell that is only 7mm high. This means you can stick it into your small form factor laptop or Ultrabook.
On the backend, OCZ has improved on the technology used in the previous Vertex. The 460 series uses 19 nm Toshiba MLC NAND flash memory married to the proprietary Barefoot 3 (BF3) M10 controller. This combo is stated to provide both a fast and reliable SSD, with speeds of up to 545 MB/s sequential read and 525 MB/s sequential write. OCZ is also placing priority on reliability and flash-optimized endurance; Vertex 460 SSDs are rated to deliver 20GB of host writes per day for a 3-year warranty
