We've covered LaCie products before, and have even visited them at CES. As such, we always like to keep an eye out and see what they're releasing next. They have just announced another in their line of Thunderbolt based storage solutions aimed at content production. This time they're utilizing the speeds offered by Thunderbolt 2 and dual hard drives, calling it the LaCie 2big.
This dual drive unit is purported to maintain speeds of up to 420MB/s, providing you with a no-lag experience in your content creation and video editing programs. Since such activities make for some big files, the LaCie 2big also comes in capacities of up to 12TB. LaCie hasn't limited this drive to Thunderbolt 2 (and the Mac audience who uses that standard); the drive also has a USB 3.0 interface. Cavernous storage, fast interface, and sleek design basically sums up what you're seeing here.
Pricing on the LaCie 2big starts at $599 USD. You can check out the press release below for more info.
