You know what? At one point in my life I actually considered writing a virus - never made it though, but the idea of trojan using HTTP proxy already existed.

Never wrote them although I remember playing a game called UGH that ended up having one of the variations of the monkey virus on it back in 93. I didn't even know the disk was infected, i ended up infecting all the computer labs in my school.. oopS!

Remember the good old stone in the 286 days... personally, I haven't seen much virus for a whole long while now (and next thing you know I'm hit by a macro virus via e-mail 'cause I use Outlook).
