What's one thing you don't like doing when cooking or baking? In the cookbooks they have those terms that sometimes I don't know.. Oh well.. I usually skip that recipe and find one that I understand! :p For the most part though I don't always go by the book when cooking.

I'm no good in the kitchen so what should take half an hour usually takes around 3 hours for me. That's what I don't like. Well and also the cleaning I guess.

The worst thing is when you have something made PERFECTLY and then one little thing screws it up.

I remember last year I made an apple cake, then went into the pantry to find some icing sugar. I picked up a bag with white powder that looked like and had the same consistency as icing sugar. But after I'd mixed it with water and drizzled it on the cake and served it, my mother noticed that it was really salty in some parts.. ewww, it was actually BAKING SODA that I had put on. It ruined everything! That's the key: always check before you add something!

That sooo sounds like me. I wish cooking ability was genetic. My mom's a great cook!

Well, my mom isn't, so genetics wouldn't help me!!!!! However, maybe actually spending some time in the kitchen would!

I think cleaning up is the worst part of cooking, I love to cook, maybe I can teach my girlfriend sometime! Until then she can just clean up the mess.

As long as I don't have to cook, it's all good! Bring on the dish detergent!

But Sapphyre, what about your famous Tomato-Basil Chicken? That's just heavenly stuff right there! But if you're offering to do the dishes....be my guest!:)

mmmm....basil chicken...man I haven't made that in a long time... last time I somehow got roped into cooking for a bunch of boys at one of our hockey parties. They all loved it - I was amazed! (I was even more amazed that the Canucks actually won that night!)

i strongly dislike people who watch me cook and tell me to stick to the recipe.....MOM! everytime i cook she freaks out that i am going to reck the whole <cause i love adding my own touch>....then when i am done....'oh Loretta, that was so good!'...every time! :o

yeah my parents are like that as well,, or if I make something and if my mom really likes it she asks me to add it to her recipe book,, but what she doesn't understand is that I don't measure or use exact amounts when I am cooking,, I jugde how much to put in by taste and smell,, but my mom doesn't seem to understand that!
