I'm with Telus Mobility and currently have a ghetto looking StarTac flip... I kind of dig the small compact size of the Nokias, anyone have other brand and models to mention worth looking at? Looking to spend about $300 on one.

I think you can get the Motorola V60 with Telus. I'm not completely sure, but I think I saw an ad.
That's awesome little phone!! It looks good, too. :D

Typically, GSM phones will be a lot smaller and lighter because they don't have all this trimode, analog junk stuck inside of it. Very clean. 1 frequency (1900 mhz if you're in North America). Microcell (Fido) and now Roger's both have GSM services. Check it out!
Fido also just launched a VERY small Motorola flip that includes GPRS capability for wireless packet data communications. It is pretty fast for a wireless connection.

Just a little tip on operator logo's, ring tones and other stuff with FIDO (Microcell). I have learned that they have programmed their new SIM cards to prevent you from down loading from other web sites other than their own www.fido.ca. Hold on to your old SIM card is all I can say.
Check out Me43.com (http://www.me43.com) for great logo's, picture messaging, ring tones, and more. They even have a way to notify you when your class that was full has an opening or if your flight is cancelled. Cool!

If you're absolutely planning to stay with TELUS, Audiovox 8100 is pretty good according to a few of my co-workers. TELUS seems to want to wait for 3G, while AT&T jumped to 2.5G. The V60 (GPRS or CDMA) is a very nice phone, but way too expensive if you have to pay for it (I'm still trying hard to get my manager to buy me that as my StarTAC is dying out too). You might want to look at GPRS from AT&T, and switch back to 3G if necessary.... (By now you guys should know whom I work for).

If you are into fancy stuff (customization), Nokia is the choice, and currently with TELUS, only 6185 (6160 in CDMA) is available. Since the 3390 is here, almost everyone jumped on it.

Well, you could either call a courier to drop off the can at the other end, or do the easiest.................. THROW IT. :) :D

What? You mean Fido doesn't come with a leash? NOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
How am I supposed to take little Fido around if he doesn't have a leash? Won't he run all over the place to play with his friends? (ie, Motorolas, Nokias, etc.)

these days phone models are just moving too fast, but obviously not quite fast enough compared to Europe and Asia. I want a new company phone.... give me a V60c and I'll be happy :D
