"Are you not finding enough room on your desk due to the fact that your conventional CRT monitor is taking up way to much space? Well, this is one of many reasons why consumers are switching from CRTs to LCDs. Another big reason is that LCD monitors can create sharper text than CRTs which is much easier on the eyes. Believe me; after testing the Samsung SyncMaster 152T, I am without a doubt, considering investing my money on one."

I purchased the 171P last November, and decided to buy a 15" companion for my second system. It was a toss up between the 151P and the 152T, but I settled on the 151P because it looks identical to the 171P, just smaller. So far as I know, the display on the 151P is identical to that of the 152T. Unfortunately the 151P costs a bit more; I guess someone has to pay for the FA Porsche design <g>.

Nonetheless, Having two LCDs instead of two CRTs has really opened up my workspace at home.

Here's a lighting trick for any LCD monitor. Buy a small table lamp, and use a 6500K florescent 15W bulb. Place the lamp directly behind the monitor. What you see is a brilliant white glow all around the monitor. This works particularly well with silver monitors; it highlights the silver base and sides. The bulbs are available at Canadian Tire, and cost $22 but will last 12 years.

If looks and light effects are of any interest to you, this is the way to go. Caution, do not buy a florescent bulb with a higher colour temp than 6500K; this will cast a blue light instead of white.
