For those who've worked with audio editing software before, what are some good programs that are relatively affordable?
(i.e. I know there's Sound Forge, but that's a tad pricey). If it's easy to use, that's also an asset.

CoolEdit should be pretty good (forgot their website now)...
I think they should start making multimedia freewares in Linux... esp MIDI composing, 'cause I want something like that.

I presume for MIDI work, Cakewalk is still a good choice? (if you'd know)

Sound forge and Col Edit is the most common software that people use for audio editing, they are pretty much the same.

Thanks Ah 9. I'm definately going to check out Cool Edit, since I've heard a few people mention it now (from other sources as well). :D

There is always Wavepad (http://nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html).
It is very easy to use and you can get a freeware version.
