For all those Starbucks fans out there, its time yet again to get your weekly dosage of frappaccinos. It seems as though younger and younger teens are hitting starbucks to get a frappaccino rather than hitting 7-11 for a Slurpee. What's the deal? Isn't a Slurpee more bang for your buck? Especially that GARGANTUAN STAR WARS SIZED SLURPEE?

it's just the "in" thing to do now, besides, slurpees are gross,IMO. while we're here, someone explaine to me the principle of ice coffee....in my days if some handed me a cold coffee, I'd send it back and complain, now you guys are paying double just so cool it off with ice:confused:

Does it really stunt growth or are we just trying to restrict kids from another form of caffeine?

It's true that you are seeing more teens heading to the Starbucks, however, this may only be a local phenomena, indigenous to this part of Canada.

In your case, it must be hard living with such a small brain.

Frappichinos(sp) now come in a non-coffee version(for non coffee drinkers)

Which I have had (cause i hate coffee) Its nice having a starbucks in the safeway I work at, I get little shooter cups of the stuff and it tastes like a milkshake! Rather expensive for the largest side.. $4.80 ugh..

Though Slurpees are cool. I had a slurpee machine at my house back in gradeschool for the summer. Had to supply our own ice though. My dad used to work for 7-11, was district manager for BC.

But I havent had one in a while, actually, I have not stepped inside of a 7-11 for about 2 years.

frappucinos are the creation of The Coffee Connection here in Boston. The Coffee Connection had the high end coffee market cornered in Boston (the other competitors are Dunkin' Donuts and Au Bon Pain). When Starbucks set their sites on Boston, they decided the best way to compete was a buy out of The Coffee Connection. Part of the acquisition is the Boston lingo. frappe + cappucino = frappucino. frappe in boston lingo is what the rest of the world calls a milk shake. They don't just have a strange accent, they have a language unto themselves.
