Take a trip to the Okanagan ... I heard that unlike the Napa Valley, tasting is still sometimes free, no stupid line-ups, and they don't treat you like some kid trying to get drunk for cheap. It's great when you get a few drinks in the winemakers and they start talking crap about other wineries -- Joe Bob had a dead squirrel in his crush, blah blah blah. :lol:

In any case, I can't wait to check out the Okanagan for myself...

Wow, amazingly there is actually some interest in this thread! :lol: I think we're among the beer and cocktail drinkers here. ;)

Okanagan Valley is one of the VQA "designated vinicultural areas" (DVA's) in the Eastern part of the province. Although I've never been there, I hear the weather's like California! :lol:

White Wine is the Best! Well in IMO... too bad it doesn't have the same health features as Red Wine does.. I find red ones to be too dry... My fav wines are Gewuerztraminers.. Reislings & Chardonnays are good too. If you go out near Chiliwack - Cultus Lake area, you can find some Wineries who sell berry wine.. Mmmm raseberry wine is good.. and better yet Raseberry Liquor.. goes great on Ice Cream and any kind of chocolate.. like cakes.. just like a Raseberry Syrup with a Kick!
