Pink Pearl?!?!?!?!

Good *and* inexpensive...that's a tough combo ;)

I like Floata...to me, they're good...but a little on the pricey side.

dim sum is great for greasy food! Not so great if you're vegetarian (less selection).

Hmm...*L* I've never defined it before...Here's a typical setup.

*pic deleted...*

Dim sum is traditionally served with tea at lunch time. All the dishes are really small? I guess they're like Asian tapas?? BWAHAHAHA

that guy doesn't make me hungry  *giggle* But we're still stealing his bandwidth! :o

EDIT: I'd put a link to his site, (which is pretty interesting, by the way), but he may not want the traffic, so I'll refrain myself.

BWAHAHAHAHA...We didn't mean to link his pic...we had linked a pic of dim sum. He didn't like us doing that, so he changed the pic. He changed the pic to himself, I guess.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.........

Well Pink Pearl is pretty good for flavour and the price is abit in the mid range. Overall quality is pretty damn good. It's alos a very LARGE restaurant so the waits are not as bad as other places!

Sun Sui Wah is only ok i think......for the type of restaurant they try to be(mor upscale) I actually find the flavour isn't as good in the food!

Floata......Same as Sun Sui Wah!

Some HIGH END places downtwon are quite excellent but then again you are paying more $$$!

For all-u-can-eat...try the restaurant above the Sony store on W. Broadway. I can't remeber the name but is right across the street from Jive billiards and on the same black as Toys-R-Us! Golden Dragon maybe...not sure. The food is ok for all-u-can-eat....unlike a place called Fantastic on Kingsway near Joyce. HORRIBLE food.....lots of fillers! No flavour!

Another awesome place is Dai Tung on Kingsway in between Knight and Fraser. Awesome food, great flavour! Unfortunately it gets quite packed!

Well, the Spring Chicken IS pretty good...

Though, I love the variety that Dim Sum provides. I say FLOATA downtown Vancouver is pretty good.

I love the Floata in Richmond. I like their soya sauce chicken, too!

Have any of you had dim sum in HK? Taste any difference? or find any different plates that they serve there? When I was over there in March, it didn't seem too much different to what we get here. Other than the Geese.. Mmm that was good.. I can't say that I really noticed anything.

What are you fav dishes?

I think mine would have to be "Pi-gwut-Fahn" or Spare ribs on rice.

I've had dim sum in Hong Kong...was there last October :D I didn't have dim sum all that much. The only difference I may have noticed was that the portions were smaller, and the choices were almost limited to only the standard stuff. On the other hand, I find there's more variety to the dim sum over here.

i'm partial to the non-deep fried and meaty stuff...I can't pass up certain rice rolls and dessert!! Yum yum - dessert!! :p

Ooh, as for goose... :) that's something I always request we go eat...I even had to take pictures of some before and after shots of the BBQ goose.

Ugh...went there today. The food was full of MSG...I am sooooo thirsty right now. I found the food to be on the salty side and there was very little variety. And the desserts were toooo sweet.
