What kind of phones does everybody use?

Right now I have the new Chocolate phone with Verizon. It's adorable, but it's kind of hard to get used to.

I've got a Motorola Razr (doesn't everyone? my but they're cheap!) It was the simplest phone I was allowed to purchase. I don't do anything on my phone but talk and text, all that other junk is what computers, iPods, and cameras are for. :D

I was looking at the Razr when I was looking for a phone. I didn't like it because the number pad was kind of annoying on my fingers. They are really cheap though, which is great!

I have an LG of some sort with the fast tap technology. I upgraded from my last LG with the fast tap technology when my cell phone provider gave me a gift certificate.

I have a Sony Ericson that I bought in 2003. No camera, no extra memory, but it has 2 games and a composer, so my ringtone is an original composition by me! It still working perfectly, same battery, although isntead of charging it every 7 days, now I have to charge it every 4 days, and I keep it on ALL THE TIME... I don't need anything else for now, and it is pre-paid, so I spend very little. I have it only for emergencies.

I've got a moto V80. unfortunately, the battery is going dead, and since this phone is not available in north america, I can get a battery for it, and it's not worth while to have one shipped from hong kong. seriously thinking of getting the LG shine next

Has anybody ever gotten a new phone only to realize that it doesn't work correctly and there are still so many problems because it's so new? I had a Motorola that was so new it still had so many bugs.

No. However, I've built computers for others and seen the results of having the cutting edge products available. There is a reason they call it "cutting edge." It usually bleeds you dry. Leading edge becomes bleeding edge as you will likely hemorrage cash to fix your problem. Sad but true in some cases. Please remember the adage: "The silly rush in where Angels fear to tread." ;) It is advisable to wait for the second generation of a product model so some of the bugs have been worked out. Early adopters = gamma testers. :D

I have a little phone, it's a no name brand in my area. It's called ALCATEL. It works fine, doesn't have a whole lot of features, but it works ok.

Yeah, that's what I have discovered since getting that brand new phone. I have realized that it is so much better to just wait for the second generation products, let everybody else catch all the bugs.

Just before Christmas Alltel was offering buy one get one free on Razrs. The one you had to buy cost $9.99.

I've had my Razr for almost a year. I carry it in my front pants pocket while doing everything, including work (which is basically construction work). It has not so much as a scratch on it, much less being broken.

Nokia 6101. No problems ever. However, my boss has had at least two versions of the Razr and the biggest/constant problem with his phones are dropped calls and dead/dying batteries. To be honest, I don't know if it is something he is/isn't doing so I can't definitively say whether it is the phones' fault, his fault, combination of both or poor design /manufacturer's defect/lousy batteries.

Dropped calls are usually a network issue rather than a phone issue. :D

I can't say about the battery (it's possible he got bad ones), but my battery lasts about five days with minimal phone usage and two to three if I'm using it a lot. The only times I ever have to charge it on a daily basis are when I'm working in one certain theatre in town and forget to turn it off. There's so much steel providing interference to signal that it's constantly in "searching for system" mode. We call it the sucking black hole for cell phones. :D

I know a lot of people paid a lot of money for them when they first came out. They are pretty basic phones though, and with all the newer and greater ones coming out more recently, they are only like $20, and sometimes you even get them free with your plan.
