For those of you who purchase consumer electronics, where do you like going most to make your purchases? (ibricks and mortar store or online) And why?
I’m finally upgrading my digital camera (since I’ve been having problems with my current one for a while now). I pretty much know what I want, and I’m going to buy one from the United States (I'm Canadian) in a couple of weeks. There are so many online sites that advertise lower prices, but I haven’t heard of most of them! I have no idea who to trust.
I often like going to Costco, too. I like their prices and that they have such a good return policy.

I mostly buy from ncix.com. Their prices are usually better than local stores.

ncix.com is great, good prices, good service, huge selection. A convenient place for me is Robotnik.com located in Halifax. Again great prices, not so big as a selection, although some items have a lower price then ncix, but you just price match them.

When I feel the need to comparison shop I do it online. It saves gas and avoids parking hassles. When I can, I will make the actual purchase at the store, usually CompUSA.

I love wandering around FRYS. Every time I go there, I end up staying most of the day, and having lunch even. That place seriously has everything.

We do a lot of comparison shopping online as well. When we bought our digital camera we comparison shopped online, went to the store to see which one we liked the feel of, and then ordered it off ebay. : ) I know ebay can be a gamble, but we just chose a seller with a very good feedback and we weren't dissapointed! We also ordered a new iRiver MP3 player from ebay and it was an amazing deal. I wish we had gotten two of them.
Another place I like to look is Sams Club. Their prices are really good.
Hope that helps. Oh, and your Canadian money should go far now that your dollar is higher! My husband is Canadian, and when he moved here 8 years ago, he lost half his savings because of the exchange rate!!
