"With the cost of 17” LCD monitors still in the $700-900 USD range most of us will have to wait to get our hands on one. So what’s the best alternative? Well, flat 19” CRT monitors offer 1 inch more display area at under a third of the price. Today we’ll test one out one candidate, the Samsung SyncMaster DynaFlat 955DF."

I recieved this Monitor alittle over 2 weeks ago and had been using a 17"Viewsonsonic A755s and a NEC X15 as my 2nd Monitor in a Dual Monitor Display.
I was kind of wary of getting it ,as I first opted for a Hitachi,Princeton Graphics or Iiyama. They all cost more and for various reasons I settled for the Sammy!
A compter tech I know had this Monitor and at first site I thought it was a Monster ,which all 19" inch Monitors are.

The setup was alittle tricky as I knew it would be after reading threads from other sites. The tilt at the edges seems alittle off ,but you have to have real good eyes to see it.There seemed to be a bright spot, but I got that out of the tube(decreased res & Increased Refresh Rate) and is bright compared to the Viewsonics.Nothing that hurts the eyes like a Compaq monitor I once had. Viewsonic's BTW I have had nothing but trouble with and had to send my old one back 2X till they sent me this A75s which I use as my second Monitor in a Dual Monitor setup.

The best Monitor I had ever owned was a Hitachi ,but it was in a generic box(Mitec).Only after It blew after a vicious 5yrs of use that I pulled the box open to see who made it. Never gave me eye strain!A printer who built a computer back in 94 said it was a real good screen also and he used alot of monitors in his shop.

Finally,I use this monitor for TV viewing through a Phoebe TV Tuner and DVD Movies through a LiteOn Drive and both are real satisfying .No Complaints.

If you are not into spending alot of Long Green and are looking into a monitor for general use I would buy it.Maybe for more disciminating people like Artist and those who need details galore would I opt to pay more $$.I might have gotten the Hitachi if I had more $$,but am satisfied with the view area and detail of this monitor!

It's a buy!

Cost $232 from Technoweb.com
