Has anyone had any experience hooking up a computer to a large LCD rear projection HDTV? I am assuming I can use DVI from computer to HDMI on TV however I am worried about screen burn in, or overdriving the TV somehow. I just bought the TV a few months ago and don't wan to fry my "baby". I would be very nice to surf the web and play some computer games on a 60" screen though! ;) For the record the TV is a Hitachi 60v715 if that matters. Any feedback\suggestions would be great. I personally can't see why it wouldn't work?

Should be a non issue. I have a 50 inch Grand WEGA which is an LCD Projection set. I plug my HTPC and my Xbox 360 through an HDMI switch to my TV and it is definitely an improvement over the VGA or the component video cable. It's worth doing. As far as overdriving the set, well, considering that I got my set at a steal because it fell off the back of a truck, and I've been running it for the last 2 years this way, I say GO FOR IT and enjoy! It'll look great.

If you have an HDMI cable already, you just need a DVI to hdmi adapter for your video card. HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI. IF you don't have the cable yet, you can buy cables that are terminated HDMI on one side and DVI on the other. MONSTER cables are great, but you can get one for far less. I think XS Cargo had a bunch, but I've seen them for less than 20 bucks at some small computer stores.
