With father's day just around the corner are you on the lookout for some type of techie toy for your father? I go on this same chase for the perfect techie gift every year! I've purchased the talking tire guages, the electronic indoor/outdoor thermometers and sooo much more! Do any of you go through this every year as well?

I actually try to stay away from buying the techie gifts because I would probably do it wrong. LOL! I buy gifts for my husband but he knows exactly what he wants as far as techie stuff so I try to find other gifts for him and leave the techie to his own.....

My Dad loves any tool that is "2 in 1" or "3 in 1" or something. He especially loves the electronically enhanced gizmo tools (like the light level and such) I have a great time at Sears, trying to find what new gizmo will grace his garage next.
My Mom... well, she isn't a real big fan of my gifts, usually. My Dad isn't exactly neat when it comes to his garage. :)

I'm stuck in the same problem I've had with Mother's Day and Father's Day for the last 15 years...I am the age of the people all the sales, gift ideas, etc. are geared toward. My parents are in their 70's. If I bought either of them anything more technical than a toaster, they'd be confused.

I hate mandatory gift-giving "holidays".

I am getting my Dad one of those remote starters for his car. He hates having to go out and start up a cold car in the winter.

My dad has everything he needs, and can afford to buy what he wants much better than I do at present time. So, he'll likely get a card.

I'll probably get my husband the computer game he's been drooling over.

These are really neat! I think they were a great invention! I've been wondering how hard they are to install? My father would love one but isn't the most handy man when it comes to cars! Does anyone have experience with the installation?

My dad is such a clown, I have usually only bought him gag gifts! I think he would be very surprised if I bought him a shirt!

Speaking as a father, anything other than one more ugly tie is likely to be appreciated! If in doubt, then give your dad a gift card to a restaurant or a store you know he likes. That way he can get exactly what he wants.

I've heard the installation of these can be difficult. My brother was able to install his with no trouble but my parents found it too complicated. You may want to consider adding a gift certificate to his garage!

I might just send my dad a gift card for his favorite restaurant. He lives in Florida and I live in Atlanta, Ga.

I'm really struggling with what to get my hubby. He wants a particular computer game, but it costs about $50 and we don't have that extra to spend right now. Have any suggestions?

Maybe you can give him a gift card towards the game, and let him know that you will get him the rest later? At least he will know you were thinking about it.

Ahhh, these games get sooo expensive! lol Have you checked places like www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com) or www.amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) ? If they are still too expensive I think trick-r-treat has the right idea. It is after all, the thought that counts! I'm also curious as to which game he's after? Maybe I can get some insight as to what the men like! I have a brother who isn't big on talking but loves computer games!
