I was reading something and came across this story about the technology racing toward being able to have a "Replicator" like they had in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I think that's so cool, since I grew up on ST. So, here's the link: http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/2007/05/07/desktop_factory.html
Has anyone seen this before?

That's pretty sweet! I wish I had something like this when I was a kid. Then I'd make all my toy dreams a reality at home :D

Wow now that is a neat concept. I like the being able to make spare parts for kids toys. I could definently use that one. Thanks for the link that was interesting.

Huh, that's pretty cool. I wonder what kind of software you'd have to run to be able to build a prototype. It would be pretty cool to have a piece of software whihc already has the specs of common items built right into it so you wouldn't have to input them. Hmm...

If I'm reading it right, you'd have to have some type of CAD program. I'm wondering how much the refills are. ;) I mean, let's face it, you won't be able to run to Wally World and pick up a new ink cartridge!

Wow! That is incredible! I would have a ball with that as a kid. After you pay for the actual printer, I wonder how much it costs to get refills of the material that you use? As a kid, I would have run through that stuff like crazy.
Thanks for the link!
