My iPod is having issues. We've got an older version and a Nano in our house. The Nano's great, the flash memory is so much better than the spinning hard drive. But the older iPod keeps shutting down or telling me to because the battery is low when the battery meter shows plenty of life. Any ideas on how to fix this? Has anyone cracked open their iPod and made it work?

That was a problem with the first generation iPods. Their battery life was horrible. I've never opened one up so I'm not sure what type of lithium battery they are running.

Perhaps Google might know of a service place you can have it checked out?

I don't have one but I do remember reading on another forum that this was a commen problem with these ones. If I remember right I don't think that there is anything you can really do though. I would run a search like the above poster suggested though before you break it open.
