I am looking to buy a iPod Nano but I am unsure which one I should get.
2 Gb Nano - Less songs but saves me money.
4 Gb Nano - More songs, more expensive
Now I used to own a 4GB 2nd Generation Nano (the Green one) and only have 122 songs on it. But I am thinking, would I ever use the full 4 GB? That is like almost 1000 songs! I had roughly 3.5GB left on it.
I don't listen to that much music and I can always transfer music back and forth if I need to remove/add songs to it.
I like the green one, with the one I had I used a clear silicon Zcover (http://www.tingram.ca/blog/Protecting-my-Apple-iPod-Nano:-zCover) which let me show off the cool color! The only problem with the 2GB one is it comes only in silver. Yea I could look for a green cover for it but...
So what do you think? I am stuck on iPods so no trying to convince me to get anything else!

I have been coming up with the same dilemma. I don't think I would ever download 1000 songs onto my IPod (that would be $1000 worth of songs!) Plus, would I ever actually listen to all of them?
But, I REALLY love the pink Nano. :)
When it comes down to it, though, $50 is a big price difference. I think 2GB is plenty of Nano. I'll deal with the silver.

I cheaped out and bought the cheaper iPod. I totally regret it! But then again I was transferring all my music from my CDs to it at a high bit rate.
It's all personal preference. If you don't think you need all that space and you want to save a couple of bucks, go with the 2GB.

I have 26GB worth of MP3s (started at 192kpbs) and I just really don't listen to it all. Hell 300-400 songs for me would be enough.
But like Stephanie2377 mentioned, I like the colored ones better, well I've always liked green!.
2GB = $169
4GB = $229
------------
$60 difference
$60 more for 2GB larger storage? Sounds pretty good right?

I'm going for the 2GB one. I can use the $60 for something else (rainy day fund or something).

Good idea, Gimli. I got a slighter larger size iPod, and still haven't filled it up. I didn't purchase it myself, but if I had I probably would have gotten a smaller size so it would cost less. If you get tired of the songs you have on there, you could always switch them out for a change of pace. :)

FourBear: That's what I plan on doing, I've got 66 songs and with 1.35GB left so I'm happy.
Now I have a spare $60 I can use for something else.

I haven't gone the iPod route yet, but then I'm at home all the time and just listen to my tunes on the computer. I haven't had a need for anything like that. I'm expecting my 9yo to ask for one anyday, though. :sigh:

So I did manage to pick up the Silver 2GB iPod Nano. I use it when I am at work so I can listen to music that others might not want to listen to and still be able to hear it nice and loud!
I do hate the earsbuds that come with it though, they hurt after a while. I need to get a decent pair that have rubber and fit inside the ear, though people might not be able to get my attention. Oh well!

I don't need to download that many songs so the cheaper one would be better for me. I just don't really think that there would be that many songs that I would want to download that I would need the more exspensive one.

Personally I am fine managing my music occasionally and switching things out... it really all depends on how much music you really must have with you at all times. For me, it's not such a huge amount.

I have 101 songs at 7.5 hours of music and only using 535MB of storage on my Nano. So I have roughly 1.5GB of space left.
I just loaded all my songs into iTunes and it tells me I have 14.5 days worth of music! That's roughly 24GB and a little over 4500 songs ;)

I think that I would go for the 2 GB first and see how you like it. Some time down the road if you need more room you can always get the 4 and then sell the 2.
