Apple has introduced the Apple iPhone, a small mobile communications device running Mac OS X. In essence an Apple iPod with widescreen and communications features, the Apple iPhone connects to GSM networks for voice and GPRS/EDGE networks for mobile data. http://www.jamthai.com/news/news00012.htm

PJ,
I may be mistaken, but I believe Apple lost a court case and will have to pay damages to Cisco, the firm that had already 'locked up' the name 'iphone'.

So I'm not even sure they will be able to market this phone under that name. OOPS, someone in marketing got fired for sure at Apple over this one.

OR perhaps they thought they could just 'buy' the name from who ever owned it.

Wow.

I wouldn't be getting the iPhone or whatever they end up calling it anyways. Way too expensive; I'd probably end up breaking it or something by mistake.

I am with you on this one FourBear. I do think that it would be great to have one of these but at that price I can say that I won't be standing in line for one. Maybe like everything else the price will come down but probably not before the newest technology comes out.
