When converting an mp3 to wav to put on CD for listening in the car I lose a lot of sound quality - always sounds very muffled, currently use free version of wavpad to convert the sound file and Nero to burn onto CD - anyone any advice on how to improve sound quality?:cool:

I use iTunes to burn CDs from my mp3s directly. Works pretty well for me, and it saves time by not having to convert things manually.

yup, like SuperAL said, you can use iTunes. Windows media player has that same feature as well.

Wavpad might be down sampling the conversion or something, because there should be no difference in sound quality when going from MP3 to WAV. Personally i use winamp to convert my MP3's to WAV before burning. Nullsoft has a guide here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=30855
<assuming you use winamp>

Convert Mp3 file using any audio editing and converting software. Suggests to use FlexiMusic Wave Editor (http://www.fleximusic.com/waveditor/overview.htm). Whatever may be the conversions either Mp3 to wav or wav to Mp3 and at each time of conversion there is sure of quality lose. It is better to save the audio file in normal audio format (*.Wav).
