Any of you guys plan on picking up this DVD? I know I missed seeing it intheaters, but I heard it was a sick movie. I looks like the disc is gonna have a ton of extras on it too, so thats pretty dope. Whatre you all thinking?

IMO I didn't think the movie was that good. I definitely rent it and watch it again though

I won't be picking up the movie. I think I was kind of bored of it in the theatre. And there wasn't enough Superman package showing.

I prefer the original Superman with Christopher Reeves, sure the special effects sucks a bit but I still like it better.

I think we all agree on the originals. ;)
I'm so hyped up about the Donner Cut of Superman II. It's like a totally different film with all the lost/deleted footage.

I finally saw Superman Returns. Rented it. I'd have to say that it did run a bit long. But it could be that human attention span has decreased considerably over the years.
The flying scene with Superman and Lois Lane seemed like it dragged a bit, but it is possible that with all the special effects these days (NEO?), the flying thing didn't really impress people as much as it did when it was featured in the original movie.
I can understand the producers wanting to ease people back into Superman all these years though, and it is likely that based on the feedback, the theatrical release of the next Superman movie will be edited very differently. This of course gives way for an Unedited Release of it when it comes out on DVD.
I'm still trying to figure out WHEN in the first movie did Lois Lane and Superman 'Get together'?

The flying scene together was supposed to be in memory of their first flight together except now there's a bittersweetness to it. The music is similar, but it sounds very... sharp, somewhat out of place and it reflects that idea. She's no longer as crazy about him as before and she's already in a relationship.
There's a bit of a loose continuity with the kid. In Superman II they did spend some time together in bed, but at that point in the story, she knew his dual identity; this latter bit has been neatly shoved aside somehow.
You could get into some weird explanations as he did erase her memory of knowledge of his true identity at the end of Superman II, but ultimately she knows that Jason is his kid. So... I mean.. you could do a cop-out and just say he erased her memory of the identities and made the memories surrounding their little time together more fuzzy -> It happened, she got pregnant, but what happened just before and after intercourse is a fuzzy.
Anything you want. They'll either shed more light on that in the sequel or just leave it to the imagination. :p
