View Full Version : Favourite food RosieTulips December 10th, 2001, 10:22 AM Everyone must have one at least one! What's yours? :) Splitfyre December 10th, 2001, 10:54 AM It's a tie between Thai and Japanese food as the all time favourite. Man I'm getting hungry, then again I've been working since 5am this morning ...zzzzzzzz.. huh..what? zzzzzzz ..falling asleep here @ work. :D Firewire December 10th, 2001, 11:05 AM I like anything that I make that turns out well. After watching Food TV, I get these urges to create with whatever is in my kitchen. It's even more of a challenge because typically there is barely anything. I made this really cool Country-Mesa-Chicken Steak smothered in fried onions, on a bed of hashbrowned potatoes, with a guacamole and roasted red bell pepper sauce. It turned out pretty darn good. It looked so cool, I had to take a picture of it. I'll post that later. I think it had a very "Bobby Flay" influence. Typically, my favourite food is DEFINITELY Japanese food. I love the textures and the flavour. It tastes so pure and light. htower December 10th, 2001, 01:11 PM Its simple but I love shepherds pie. Especially the way my mom makes it. She puts some strips of bacon on the top. yum, yum, yum in my tum, tum, tum :D RosieTulips December 10th, 2001, 01:16 PM Mmm...I also love shepherd's pie...so comforting :) Oooh and seafood. Lately I've been really liking the Cookies 'n' Cream baked Clif bars. As for cuisines, I'm partial to Cantonese, Japanese, and fine North American. Oooh and dessert. Desserts are my favourite. :p I am getting hungry. :o chefboy December 10th, 2001, 10:14 PM my favourite cusine is Ukranian food,, I guess I am a little biast seeing as I am half Ukranian :D Big Guy December 10th, 2001, 10:49 PM I'm a pasta fanatic -- with Rigatoni and Pizza being my favorite. Still, put a nice big juicy steak in front of me and I'll be happy too. :) chefboy December 10th, 2001, 11:01 PM mmmmm steak,,, drool :p yeah I love pasta and chinese food as well Big Guy December 10th, 2001, 11:05 PM Originally posted by chefboy mmmmm steak,,, drool :p yeah I love pasta and chinese food as well What's your favorite pasta chefboy? chefboy December 10th, 2001, 11:08 PM I make a killer Lasagne,, stuffed with cottage cheese ,,, yumm yumm Big Guy December 10th, 2001, 11:17 PM Originally posted by chefboy I make a killer Lasagne,, stuffed with cottage cheese ,,, yumm yumm ...Can I come over? You're making my mouth water already. I can just picture it. :) My favorite pasta is Rigatoni -- I don't know why, but I've always just loved it. chefboy December 10th, 2001, 11:27 PM yummy,, I make a mean meat sauce for my lasagne as well Firewire December 11th, 2001, 12:07 AM Here's the picture of that dish I was going to post earlier. I call it Country Mesa Chicken. It started out as a country fried chicken steak, but then I decided to add a whole bunch of stuff. Onions, chees, and a Guacamole and Roasted Red Pepper sauce. http://frontpage.home.net/bikegod/forums/country_mesa_chicken.jpg I would probably change the recipe and presentation next time by using a large breast, fried in a coating of crunchy bread crumbs and a light batter, instead of the country chicken steak. I would probably use thinner sliced onions, deep fried, and for the sauce, I would probably make it a bit spicier with hot sauce, topping it off with some kernel corn and a bit of sour cream. Don't forget the cheese! I would keep the bed of hash browned potatoes the same. chefboy December 11th, 2001, 12:11 AM sounds and looks awesome except for the guacamole,, ewww RosieTulips December 11th, 2001, 01:25 AM Originally posted by chefboy sounds and looks awesome except for the guacamole,, ewww Yeah, I'm not a fan of guacamole either!! Firewire December 11th, 2001, 01:42 AM It was there more for colour and texture than anything else. The Roasted Bell pepper sauce and the spices I added made it tangy, but light. chefboy December 11th, 2001, 11:50 PM coolness,,,,, it sounds like something that I would make but I would skip the guacamole even if it gave good colour and texture :D bender December 12th, 2001, 06:11 AM sushi and chinese hot-pot..... yummy RosieTulips December 12th, 2001, 10:51 AM Originally posted by bender sushi and chinese hot-pot..... yummy Yum yum, now that's my kind of food!!:p chefboy December 13th, 2001, 01:57 PM I don't like sushi :( I am not a fan of raw fish RosieTulips December 13th, 2001, 03:30 PM Originally posted by chefboy I don't like sushi :( I am not a fan of raw fish Sushi isn't all about raw fish :) There's also cooked food and vegetables. chefboy December 14th, 2001, 12:44 AM so I have been told ;) Splitfyre December 14th, 2001, 09:10 AM sushi makes me.... http://www.data-techniques.net/cwm/otn/realhappy/jump.gif RosieTulips December 14th, 2001, 10:46 AM Originally posted by Splitfyre sushi makes me.... http://www.data-techniques.net/cwm/otn/realhappy/jump.gif That is so cute...At least it doesn't make you xx) Splitfyre December 14th, 2001, 11:29 AM I am feeling a little.... http://www.duhspot.com/users/smiley/s/cwm/3dlil/tard.gif today, although I am getting a little http://www.duhspot.com/users/smiley/s/contrib/lilly/hmm3grin2orange.gif hyper thanks to a few cans of WhoopAss cola. chefboy December 15th, 2001, 02:26 PM you are too funny Splitfyre Splitfyre December 15th, 2001, 02:31 PM haha.. although I feel like a little.. http://www.eyp.ph/betterbiz/080601/images/phohoapic.gif Shameless plug for one of Futurelooks favourite restaurants to eat at. :) :alien:  chefboy December 15th, 2001, 02:39 PM yummy,, PHO,,, I love there soup,, it is cheap and so good Splitfyre December 17th, 2001, 12:10 AM Originally posted by chefboy yummy,, PHO,,, I love there soup,, it is cheap and so good ....and you're amazed at the quantity they give you for the price you pay.
