I don't know what I did last weekend, but I made the Xbox freeze on me. :mad:

Probably because the thing doesn't use real thermal paste! A huge heatsink won't dissipate anything unless it has good heatsink paste. Also the heatsink on the nVidia GPU was glued onto the chip, which usually yields very poor cooling results...

Oops... It sounds like I took one apart...or something like that...

Ah freezing Xboxs, we've gotten quite a few of those returned by customers at the store I work at, you probably got one the duds. Some of them work great, the others will just freeze on you continually, my advice is just to return it and get another one. Good luck!

In either case, I would have to agree with your advice. Just go and return it until you find one that does not freeze.
