This thread is for our member Supafly!

He's looking for a new DVD Player. Can anyone help him out? Personally, if he's in a transition stage, then he should check out the Samsung DVD-V1000 reviewed below:

It incorporates a VCR, DVD Player, and most importantly, it is high quality and comes with a mind boggling array of inputs and outputs.

Thanks Gals and Guys. I didn't even know they could replace my CD player. DVD players that play audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and of course DVD's are great for saving space. Any good information would be helpful. I am usally a sucker for the big price tag. I'll post a poll on the top three I am thinking of buying soon!

Thanks for all the help!

As stated from the original thread (http://64.91.233.145/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34) , I mentioned the Pioneer ones, because they can also play CD-R's and VCD's.

I know a couple of people who have them and really like it. I'm not sure of the price though. And I don't know the model right now, either!! But I'll try to find out!! :)

Pioneer's are great units, though they can be a bit pricey. I've heard Toshiba's aren't bad if you need a budget player.

....For me however, I'd need a multi-region capable player, since some of the anime I like may only be region 2.

depends on whether you want versatility (all sorts of different media) and region-code free, your choices might be limited. I got myself a Shinco 3 disc DVD, and so far I have nothing bad to say about it.

I guess I can ask this:

What's a good multi-region DVD player?

Seriously, I think China makes the most multi-region, multi-read DVD player. Don't know about QA/QC, but from my personal experience, if you got a good unit, it'll perform just as well as a Japanese unit (though the audio part might not be).

The Apex 600A is the one that started it all in North America. It is banned from eBay. My parents have one.
