What would you consider to be the best brand of CDRW discs to buy? I currently buy all my computer accessories including discs from Costco. They have the best return policy, you don't like it, return it, no questions asked.

Anyways the different colour of discs is important so I always go with GOLD . I came across this one brand I believe it was called Pine .... something or other.
I ended up utilizing about 5 discs out of the 20 as I found alot were bad. Just ended up going to Costco and replacing them. :D

Pine discs suck........... royally.

For CD-R's, I've liked the Maxell CD-R Pro media a lot (1 failed in about 40 discs that I've used). For spindles, Maxell's regular discs work well, and Cursor brand ones are OK (Futureshop carries these). Sony's are pitiful (at least in the Samsung burner I'm using).

For CD-RW's, Imation, Verbatim, and Sony (surprisingly) are all good brands. Never used Maxell RW media so I can't say how good they are.

I'd like to always go with Sony, but I usually end up with boxes of Maxell CDRs!

If you're buying RW discs, then DEFINITELY buy good quality ones. It sucks when you're burning cheap discs and your data goes corrupt on ya.

Most definately. Of course if you plan to use media for long-term storage, CD-R is the way to go.

They don't go corrupt. They just turn into coasters. Then again that reminds me of Moto trying to burn discs that aren't able to properly burn at 24x! :P

If you want coasters so bad, go with AOL discs.

I know I went with Verbatim for CDRW (non-HS). Definitely Gold for Audio - it worked best with audio equipment. Otherwise, any color is fine for Data - most CDROM these days have no problem with the dye color.
