Futurelooks CES 2002: Crazy Cars and Car Audio (Page 1 of 4)

The Alpine Super RSX

Alpine had quite the car audio display happening at CES. One item of particular interest was their "Alpine RSX". This car was built from a pre-production vehicle and has been totally rebuilt with the best that Alpine has to offer. The car literally started out as bare metal and when everything was said and done, cost around $200,000US dollars. They plan to turbo charge it later on to see how much performance they can eek out of Acura's RSX. As wonderful as the car looks and performance, there is an ironic twist. Since the car is a pre-production model, it has not been certified for safety in North America. In about a year, Alpine will be forced to "CRUSH" (Yes my friends, you heard me) the poor RSX into scrap. Enjoy the car while it lasts...

Jensen's Super Van

Created by "The Fishman", Jensen's Mini Van on steroids featured a motorized and retractable sound system in the back of the van, clear steering wheel, and a fully functional Aquarium gracing the rear door panels. Fishman is known in the car installation world as the man who installs Fish Tanks in all the cars he works on. We are told that the reason why there were no fish present was because they keep dying, due to the low frequencies generated by the enormous subwoofers. Have a look.
