Futurelooks Field Tests the Samsung SC-D305 Digital Video Camcorder in the Andes

Samsung never ceases to amaze me with their innovative and cutting edge products. They are rapidly become a huge world player in the electronics field competing toe to toe with other heavy hitters like Sony, Phillips, Panasonic, etc. Over the last couple of years, Samsung has been making a major push all around the world to get their “Samsung” brand name out there. This year was no different as they were one of the major sponsors at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics and the recent World Cup of Hockey.

The day before I left on my most recent adventure, Samsung sent me their new SDC305 camcorder to field test in a real world environment. I has happy to oblige to the request as I had never taken a camcorder with me before on any of my prior traveling adventures. I reiterated to Samsung that this adventure would be one where this camera may not come back in one piece or working order and would be subject to a variety of harsh environmental conditions and treatment. Confident with their products and their talented engineers, my contact at Samsung said to bring it on.

My newest adventure would take me to Chile South America to snowboard in the magnificent Andean Mountains. I have to admit that I have been pretty lucky over the last 10 months in the way of traveling. I have swam in the warm blue waters of Hawaii, hiked the legendary Inca trail in Peru, and now I found myself en-route to ride in the high Chilean Andes.

Snow sliding in August is a great anomaly for people that live in North America. For most people June, July August is the time for sun and beach, but in South America the season is suppose to be the exact opposite. June July; August is winter. Rightfully named, I hooked myself up with a trip, offered through Casa Tours, called the Endless Winter. Keep yourself posted to www.Futurelooks.com for my article on Chile and the picture essay.

Now on with the review!
