The YP-90S is an evolution in Samsung's MP3 player offerings with new features such as a built in FM radio, 15 hr battery life, a minimum of 64 megs of storage and Windows Media Player support.  Modeled after the previous YP-20T the YP-90S shares the same tear drop shape, plastic "egg shaped" casing, and round display area.  Important differences include room for an extra battery to give it the 15 hrs of touted battery life, and to power the new FM radio, plus a slightly larger size.  It also has a voice recording feature which the previous model lacked.  The YP-90S has firmware that is upgradeable to work with future audio formats and add new functionality.

What's in the Box...err...Cylinder?

The Yepp's come in unique, cylindrical containers made of a high quality plastic.  I don't know whether to throw it out or to keep it.  The package included the YP-90S itself, two AAA alkaline batteries, instruction manuals, earbud style headphones, arm strap, case, and a tiny CD containing the YEPP Explorer software. Previous Yepp's used to come with a neck strap, but I'm sad to report that I could not find one included with this unit.

System Requirements

The YP-90SH supports both MAC and PC which is great for everyone. It will support both MAC OS 9-X, and Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Both require 20 megs of disk space, and a USB port. It also asks for a VGA display, but if you don't have a VGA display, then how the heck are you reading this?
