When we looked at NZXT's Precision Power 650 Watt
power supply earlier this year, we saw a few things that made it a bit...rough. For starters, the chromed finish was discolored and blotchy while the PCI-E connectors were so stiff that we were afraid that they'd rip the power connectors right off our video cards. Now that 1000 watts is the name of the game, NZXT
is looking to play.

Big Cheese designer Johnny Hou
over at NZXT sent over their latest and greatest Precision Power 1000 watt power supply. This power supply is the middle child in their new product line which includes a smaller 850 watt unit and a larger 1200 watt unit. All three have modular sleeved cables and four PCI-E connectors with an 80% plus efficiency and active PFC. They also have a standard power supply footprint so that they will fit in any case without modification and share the same cosmetics.
The two larger units have 6 x 12 volt rails with a special combined power mode for complying with sudden requests for more power, while the 850 Watt unit has 4 x 12 volt rails without the combined power option.
