Logitech MX Revolution Advanced Wireless Rechargeable Laser Mouse Review

  Submitted: 07-25-2007

 Summary:
Logitech has been very clearly the leading mouse manufacturer in the computer industry. From the low end to the high end, Logitech has a mouse for everyone. Continuing on their leadership position, Logitech has introduced what they call the World's Most Advanced Mouse. Does it live up to the hype? Let's find out!

There are regular mice and then there are computer mice designed specifically for hardcore gamers and savvy Internet surfers. Folks like this will never be satisfied with just the usual pair of buttons on the face of a mouse. They want more. In many ways, the Logitech MX Revolution could very well be one of the best mice you can buy for under a hundred bucks, but it's not perfect.

Logitech has long since developed a reputation for creating truly top-notch computer accessories, and while their budget-minded wired optical mice are just fine for the average web user, people who spend hours and hours a day staring at an LCD will want more. The MX Revolution delivers on several fronts by offering features that you simply will not find on a cheaper mouse.

Inside The Box of the World's Most Advanced Mouse...

...is the most advanced packaging ever. In fact, it is so advanced, that Logitech had to include instructions on how to remove the mouse and the receiver from the moulded plastic container. I guess a lot of "less advanced" customers were becoming frustrated.

Once inside our most advanced packaging, we are greeted with the following goods which include:

  • The Logitech MX Revolution
  • USB Receiver Dongle
  • Charging Cradle
  • Power Adapter for your normal wall socket
  • Software CD

One difference between this mouse and previous Logitech wireless rechargeable mice is the fact that the cradle serves no purpose but to charge the mouse.  The Logitech G7 had rechargeable battery packs that charged in the wireless cradle, while the Logitech MX1000, Logitech's first wireless laser mouse, used a cradle that doubled as a wireless reciver and a charging cradle.
