GIGABYTE unleashed a new line of Skylake based laptops at CES 2016. Their flagship GIGABYTE Laptop is the new P57W and it sports some very interesting features. However there are many more models in this new line-up, and they all have something new to offer mobile gamers.
The one GIGABYTE laptop that is getting all the attention is the P57W. This 17.3" form factor laptop features a 6th generation Intel Core i7 CPU, GeForce GTX 970M GPU, and support for DDR4 RAM. The P57W also features a whole host of storage options, with support for M.2 PCIe SSD storage, USB 3.1 Type-C connections, and a swappable bay for an HDD/ODD for additional storage or multimedia purposes. The big selling point of this laptop as a gaming though, is the anti-ghosting 30-key rollover keyboard. This keyboard is designed to combat unreported multiple key presses, or "ghosted" keys, while you're in the midst of a game. If 17.3" is too big for your britches, a similarly spec'd model can be found in the 15" P55W. It just looses the anti-ghosting keyboard.
If you're looking for the fastest GPU you can find in a mobile form factor, and 4K resolution, the 17" P37X and 15" P35X might be more to your liking. These two units feature GeForce GTX 970M graphics chips with 8GB VRAM and a UHD 3840x2160 IPS display. They also feature the same swappable HDD/ODD bay as the P55W/P57W. In the input department, the P37X has a dedicated Macro Key combined with the Macro Hub. You'll probably be able to guess that this feature allows you to create your own macros for complex in-game actions.
Also included in this announcement is a 14" Ultrabook class laptop that contains within it a GTX 970M, and a more affordable 15" and 17" model. You can check out more info in the press release below.
