XtremeMac
has been in the iPod accessory game since the beginning. Often imitated, the company has stayed fairly close to the front with unique and quality products. One of their most unique so far is this stylish alarm clock that doubles as a
stereo speaker dock for your iPod.

Now most alarm clocks are fairly small right? They are probably black and look cheaply made and after time, probably well beat up. Well the Luna is definitely not one of those regular alarm clocks, and I'm sure you'd be more careful than to swat this across the bedroom. As soon as I received my sample, I unwrapped the product and right away, the design was what caught my eye: Black, white with silver buttons, nice rounded corners and a large LCD screen on front makes this one sexy looking clock.
One thing that I noticed on the box was that it says it will work with 4G iPods and higher. Well that was a little misleading because I have a 2nd Generation Nano so I hope that my excitement to try it out will not be in vain. Otherwise, this review will unfortunately stop short.
Did I mention that batteries are included? Thats right! The Luna comes with 2x
AA batteries that are used for keeping the time when the power goes off. You
usually find alarm clocks backed up with expensive 9 volt batteries so running
this clock actually ends up being cheaper in the long run.
Features
The Lunas features are that of a regular alarm clock with a couple of added specialties. It has an AM/FM Tuner, a built in AUX jack at the rear, a RF remote control and of course the iPod dock on top. The 4 large circular buttons on top are the controls for this sleek, modern day alarm clock. These 4 large buttons control the 2 alarm settings, volume, brightness of the display and the menu.
iPod Dock

The iPod Dock got me a little worried because the Luna did not come with any of the adapters that normally ship with the iPod Nanos. Luckily I still happen to have my adapter and it fit perfectly. It allowed me to slide the Nano into the spot on the top of the clock without any trouble. Now if you have somehow lost your adapter the Luna does not come with any so you might have troubles plugging in your iPod Nano. Those with the regular iPods will have no troubles at all. The iPod dock doesnt just allow you to play music through the Luna it also charges your iPod too.
