  Submitted: 03-23-2007

 Summary:
Zalman has been committed to making super quiet cooling solutions for quite some time. Their quality and near artistic construction have made them legendary. Today, we check out one of their innovative heatpipe cooled power supplies. Does silence have a price when it comes to power? Let's find out!

Zalman is well known for their commitment to quiet computing.  Their CPU coolers are some of the most high performance and quiet units out there.  Their designs blend unique craftsmanship and detail that could almost be mistaken for art.  The question is, how does this translate to power supplies?

Today we get a chance to find that out by checking out one of Zalman's latest power supplies.  This power supply known as the ZM600-HP is an ultra-quiet power supply utilizing a unique internal heatsink design.  It complies with ATX12V Version 2.2, supports dual-core CPUs, and dual graphics cards. There are also Four Independent +12VDC Outputs that power CPU, VGA, motherboard, and peripheral components giving components a high level of stability.

Other noteworthy features of this power supply include sleeved modular cables and an ultra quiet two ball bearing 120mm cooling fan. The unit is also rated at 600 watts and features a 3 year warranty.

Well, the unit looks good on paper, and there are some very cool features.  However, I prefer to pop this into a system and beat on it, but first, let's do the visual inspection.
