While consumer electronic titans, Sony and Toshiba, wage war over format royalties,
LG Electronics becomes our Switzerland, providing a safe haven for all who wish to experience the awesomeness of high definition movies, without all this silliness over which format will survive. At the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas in January, LG made a ground-breaking announcement, unveiling the BH100 - the world's first combination Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD player!

And a resounding sigh of relief came from the butts of fence-sitters around the world.
"We've developed the Super Multi Blue Player to end the confusion caused by the current competition between Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD. Customers are no longer forced to choose between the two formats," said Dr.
Hee Gook Lee, president and chief technology officer of LG Electronics. "As Full HD TV is already gaining ground, we are hoping that the Super Multi Blue Player will play the trigger role in expanding and advancing both Full HD TV and high-definition DVD market volume together."
We were invited to sit with LG and have a chance to see the BH100, also known
as the "Super Blu" in action. When asked about their reasons, as a member of the Blu-ray Disc Association, for building a machine that plays both formats, their answer was simple:
"Canadians want full HD and don't want to be limited by technology."
Will the LG "Super Blu" BH100 will be the machine to end the war and remove the limits
that have been plaguing the uptake of HD Film? Let's have a look.
