At the Bellagio Hotel, CORSAIR
was showing off their line up for 2007. Though there was not really much new to show that hasn't already been released to the retail channel though, it doesn't mean it wasn't an interesting meeting. They did have a nice rack of memory and flash drives on display, but the highlight was their Dominator 10000 memory module: DDR2 1250Mhz (625Mhz), 5-5-5-18 latencies.

DOMINATING!

The Dominator series are also built on a rather different PCB than most memory modules in that the (electrical) ground is extended at the top so that a heatsink (not a heatspreader, which would just be a block of metal like with the PT4000s) may be attached to help dissipate heat there.

A second heatsink is then attached on the surface that dissipates heat from the memory chips themselves. Altogether, there are four heatsink plates for both sides of the memory modules.
