Arctic Cooling Accelero X1 VGA Cooler Review

  Submitted: 10-31-2006

 Summary:
The Swiss have come up with yet another cooling solution. Only this time, it is for your super hot 3D Graphics cards. The Accelero X1 boasts super quiet operation, with extra cooling power. Can this product pull both feats off without compromise? Let's find out!

The Swiss are at it again!  This time, they have secretly taken over the whole Video Card Cooler market.  I guess the Swiss aren't so neutral after all!

While most cooling manufacturers have one or two products in their line-up to support video cards, Arctic Cooling has brought the responsibility upon themselves for building custom solutions for every video card on their market.  There solutions are not just a generic cop out with a universal bracket.  Each solution is customized for the video card series that it serves, and typically installs in minutes without hassle.

Their successful, and often imitated, "Silencer" series has been followed by their new Accelero series.  Thanks to their work with OEM partners on designing cooling solutions, their design work has ended up on a lot of the most high end video cards right out of the box.  In fact, their latest Accelero product was good enough for PowerColor to use them on their new top of the line X1950 PRO card right at launch.

Today, we get to look at the Accelero X1; a VGA cooling solution that works with the NVIDIA 6800, 7800, and 7900 series video cards.  Let's see how it does against a stock 7800GTX cooler.
