When INTEL launched their next generation chip, CONROE, high atop Taipei 101 at COMPUTEX 2006, was anyone really surprised at what would take place? There were many signs even before the launch, that INTEL was planning something really special to take back the top spot in processor supremacy. With each benchmark, preview and impression revealing more and more about the capabilities of Intel's new darling, the events leading up to the launch made the launch itself more anti-climatic than climatic.

Let’s talk about those “Leaked” CPU’s for a sec. Since no one in their right mind reveals their sources, then where do these parts come from? With the tight security around their clean rooms and labs, how could a CPU be “leaked” unless it was made so by the powers that be? Good marketing or bad security? You decide.
